Benha University, under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, took part in the Fourth National Forum for Students with Disabilities across Egyptian universities and institutes, titled “Creative but Different.” The forum was organized by the Leadership Development Institute from August 17–21, 2026, as part of the “Inspirers of Egyptian Universities” initiative, under the auspices of prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and prof. Karim Hemam, Advisor to the Minister for Student Activities.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized the university's commitment to supporting and empowering students with disabilities, integrating them into student activities, and providing opportunities to showcase their talents and abilities. He stressed that creativity and excellence are not limited by circumstances, and that students with disabilities possess unique talents worthy of support.
He added that the forum reflects Egypt's vision of enhancing the rights of persons with disabilities, empowering them, and promoting their positive integration into society, in line with the New Republic and Egypt's Vision 2030.
Dr. Gehan Abdelhadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, highlighted the university's dedication to providing an inclusive academic environment that enables students with disabilities to invest in their talents. She affirmed that empowering these students is central to the university's mission of justice, equal opportunity, and fostering creativity.
Dr. Samar Abdelhamid, Director of the Mostafa Sadeq Al-Rafei Center, noted that participation in such forums is a valuable opportunity to discover and nurture talents, build confidence, and enhance skills. She stressed the importance of joint activities in supporting integration and creating genuine spaces for students to express their creativity.
The forum included the participation of 17 universities and institutes, offering diverse activities that allowed students with disabilities to showcase their talents, interact with peers, exchange experiences, and strengthen values of cooperation, belonging, and participation.
