Benha University President welcomed the Director of the Central Unit for Information Technology Training at the Supreme Council of Universities

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, met Prof. Mohamed Hassan Gadallah, Director of the Central Unit for Information Technology Training at the Supreme Council of Universities, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a workshop organized by the University's Information Technology Center titled: "Cybersecurity in the Era of Artificial Intelligence."
The event was attended by:
• Prof. Gehan Abdelhady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research;
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development;
• Prof. Ahmed Taha, Chief Information Officer (CIO);
• Prof. Mahmoud El-Habak, Deputy Director of the Central Unit for Information Technology Training at the Supreme Council of Universities;
• Prof. Mohamed El-Sayed, Director of the IT Training Unit;
• Engineer Mina Ayoub from the Cybersecurity Initiatives and Programs Department at the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA);
• Several members of the Central Training Unit team at the Supreme Council of Universities.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that Benha University places great importance on developing the digital skills of its affiliates, as this is a key pillar for keeping pace with rapid technological advancements. He noted the university's commitment to providing specialized training programs that enhance the ability of students, staff, and faculty members to interact with modern technology efficiently and securely.
Prof. El-Gizawy added that the university is also working to expand partnerships with state institutions, the private sector, civil society, and academic institutions to support digital transformation efforts. This contributes to the development of the work system and services within the university, in accordance with an integrated strategy aligned with sustainable development goals.
Prof. Gehan Abdelhady affirmed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an influential element in developing education, scientific research, and university administration. She explained that while the expansion of these technologies is beneficial, it simultaneously imposes increasing challenges related to information security, data protection, and privacy. She stressed that digital transformation and Cybersecurity are two sides of the same coin, emphasizing that a secure and sustainable digital transformation cannot be achieved without providing the necessary protection for systems and data, and raising Cybersecurity awareness among all members of the university community.
The workshop included a lecture by Prof. Mohamed Hassan Gadallah on "Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges," in which he discussed the most prominent AI applications and the opportunities they offer, alongside the risks and challenges associated with their use. He also moderated an open dialogue with students and attendees regarding the safe and effective use of AI technologies.
The workshop also featured a presentation by Prof. Mohamed El-Sayed, who reviewed the achievements of digital transformation at Benha University over the past year, highlighting the key services and activities implemented by the Information Technology Center to serve the university community and civil society institutions.
Prof. Mohamed Hassan Gadallah and his delegation toured the training center at Benha University. He met with the administrative team, training coordinators, and trainers, praising the center's role in implementing training programs and digital transformation fundamentals tests. He emphasized the importance of continuing its efforts to support the university's journey toward achieving institutional excellence and enhancing the quality of educational and training services.
