Benha University Organized Free Veterinary Convoy in Kafr Al-Suhby Village, Shebin El-Qanater

Under the auspices of:
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University;
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development;
• Prof. Abdel Fattah Monjed Selim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the university organized a free veterinary Convoy in Kafr Al-Suhby village, part of Shebin El-Qanater Center in Qalyubia Governorate. This initiative is part of the university's community role and its commitment to providing medical and advisory services to citizens and breeders in villages and areas most in need. Prof. Ehab El-Nahas, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that the Convoy was attended by Prof. Hani Shams from the Qalyubia Veterinary Directorate, in coordination with Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environment.
The Vice Dean expressed gratitude to Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Qandil, Director of the Educational Veterinary Hospital, and the hospital staff and clinical and scientific departments of the faculty for their efforts in ensuring the success of the Convoy and providing free veterinary services to citizens.
The Convoy's activities included medical examinations and check-ups on various types of animals, providing free treatment for the examined cases, alongside veterinary awareness about certain viral diseases, veterinary guidance, and educating about the importance of regular vaccinations for animals.
A total of 176 citizens benefited from the Convoy's services, with examinations conducted on :
• 53 cases of cattle and buffaloes,
• 394 cases of sheep and goats,
• 12 cases of equines.
• ultrasound device was used to examine 50 other cases of farm animals.
The Convoy also examined:
• 553 cases of birds and rabbits,
• chickens, ducks, pigeons, and rabbits,
• conducted one surgical case,
• collected blood and stool samples for necessary laboratory analyses.
At the end of the Convoy's activities, the necessary medications were provided free of charge to all cases that underwent medical examinations.
