Egypt–France Joint Research Project at Benha University to Study the Spread of Blood Parasites in Horses

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the Egyptian team of the joint research project between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Benha University and the French institute ANSES has visited the institute to follow up on the project's implementation stages and continue related research activities. The project is titled: “Prevalence Rates and Molecular Classification of Selected Blood Parasites in Horses.”
The Egyptian delegation included Dr. Abdel Fattah Selim, Principal Investigator and Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Dr. Salma Shoulah, Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases; and Dr. Mostafa Mohamed, Lecturer of Infectious Diseases.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that the visit reflects Benha University's commitment to strengthening research collaboration with international scientific institutions, enabling the exchange of expertise and knowledge, benefiting from advanced research capabilities, and supporting the implementation of joint scientific projects in priority fields.
The visit featured several scientific meetings and discussions to assess progress made in the project, analyze and debate the research findings achieved so far, and exchange perspectives on mechanisms for completing the next phase to fulfill the project's scientific objectives.
Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that the joint project between Benha University and ANSES demonstrates the university's orientation toward expanding international research partnerships and encouraging researchers to engage in applied scientific projects. Such initiatives contribute to advancing research, innovation, and serving the fields of veterinary medicine and public health.
She noted that projects of this kind are key pathways supporting the university's strategy to build effective scientific partnerships with international research institutions and to enhance Benha University's academic and research presence globally.
