“El-Gizawy”: ' We Aim to Transform International Partnerships into Sustainable Programs and Projects That Deliver Direct Benefits to Students and Researchers'
Under the auspices of prof. Abdelaziz Qonsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Benha University, headed by prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, and with the participation of prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, is taking part in the 36th edition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition. The event is being hosted in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 8 to 11 September, drawing more than 9,000 participants, over 1,000 institutions and organizations, and more than 250 exhibitors from around the world.
The University's participation comes as part of its drive to broaden cooperation with global academic and research institutions and to draw on the latest international expertise and best practices.
This aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategy to advance the internationalization of university education and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian institutions.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, affirmed that participation in EAIE 2026 offers a valuable opportunity for direct engagement with universities and educational and research bodies from across the globe, and for exploring areas of collaboration that can help advance the University's educational and research mission.
He explained that the meetings held on the sidelines of the conference aim to discuss the establishment of joint and dual-degree programs, expand opportunities for student and faculty exchange, develop joint research projects, and capitalize on cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship, training, and capacity building.
The University President emphasized that opening up to international institutions is one of the core pillars of Benha University's strategic plan. He stressed that the objective goes beyond signing new agreements; it extends to activating them through tangible, sustainable programs and projects that deliver real benefits to students, researchers, and faculty members.
El-Gizawy added that the participating delegation is working to showcase the University's distinctive academic programs, specialized fields, and research capabilities, as well as to promote study opportunities at Benha University to students from around the world, thereby supporting efforts to attract international students.
The participation agenda includes a series of bilateral meetings and discussions with representatives of universities and international institutions to explore avenues for joint cooperation, develop concepts for cross-border educational programs, exchange academic expertise and talent, and advance collaborative research projects.
The University President noted that the coming period will see further expansion of cooperation with international partners, with a focus on priority fields and on aligning partnerships with the needs of education, scientific research, and innovation—supporting Benha University's vision of building effective and sustainable international relationships.
