Benha University President Attends Ceremony Marking the Start of the Academic Year

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the flag-raising and national anthem ceremony held at the university 's sports grounds to celebrate the launch of the 2026/2027 academic year.
The event was graced by the presence of prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, alongside deans, vice-deans, and senior academic and administrative leaders.
Prof. El-Gizawy affirmed that the university has completed all preparations to welcome students at the start of the new academic year. This included equipping lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, and educational facilities across all faculties, as well as ensuring the readiness of student housing and support services. These efforts, he stressed, guarantee a suitable learning environment and the smooth commencement of studies from day one.
He extended his congratulations to faculty members, teaching assistants, staff, and students, wishing them a successful and fruitful year filled with achievement and excellence.
The President urged all members of the university community to work diligently and in a spirit of teamwork, contributing to the creation of a distinguished educational and research environment that fulfills the university 's mission and meets the aspirations of its students. He emphasized the importance of continuing the path of excellence, achieving further scientific and research accomplishments, and investing in knowledge with seriousness, dedication, and loyalty to both the university and the nation.
Dr. El-Gizawy also highlighted the university 's commitment to student activities, considering them a vital pillar in shaping students ' personalities, developing their skills, and encouraging participation in diverse events, competitions, and cultural, artistic, social, and athletic programs.
At the close of the celebration, the President and his colleagues toured several student activities organized to welcome new and returning students. The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners of first-place titles in the 12th African Universities Games “Cairo 2026,” hosted at a club in the New Administrative Capital, with active participation from Benha University students.
