Cooperation Protocol between Benha University and Kalyobiya Water Company for Training, Scientific Research, Consultations, and Sustainability Support

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the university and the Kalyobiya Drinking Water and Sanitation Company. The aim is to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of training, education, scientific research, and consultations, in addition to developing governance systems, smart management, and supporting sustainability efforts.
The protocol was signed by:
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Engineer Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kalyobiya Drinking Water and Sanitation Company,
In the presence of :
• Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Affairs,
• Prof. Mohamed Salah, General Manager of Customer Service at the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation,
• Mr. Hossam Mashhour, General Manager of Public Relations at the Kalyobiya Drinking Water and Sanitation Company.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that this protocol comes within the framework of organizing shared cooperation between the university and the company in scientific, research, training, and advisory fields, contributing to the support and development of the drinking water and sanitation system in Kalyobiya Governorate.
He added that the cooperation includes implementing joint research and scientific projects, enhancing water awareness and sustainability, by promoting water security concepts among students and integrating them into student activities and educational programs, which contributes to implementing a sustainable awareness program for rationalizing water consumption within the university campus.
The protocol also includes cooperation in supporting and utilizing renewable energy sources, preparing environmental studies, calculating carbon emissions, and supporting carbon neutrality plans, in addition to providing scientific consultations for developing waste management projects and implementing specialized training programs and workshops for employees of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company.
The university president stated that the protocol also includes providing discounts for employees of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company enrolled in postgraduate programs at Benha University, whether diploma, master's, or doctoral programs, allowing them to benefit from academic programs in various specialties.
Prof. El-Gizawy pointed out that the university prioritizes practical training, believing in the importance of students acquiring practical experience alongside academic study. He confirmed that cooperation with the company provides distinguished opportunities for training and exposure to real work environments.
Engineer Mohamed Ibrahim expressed his happiness with the cooperation with Benha University, affirming the Kalyobiya Drinking Water and Sanitation Company's commitment to supporting training efforts and benefiting from the scientific and research expertise possessed by the university, which serves the local community and contributes to the development of the company's operations.
