In Its Twelfth Edition: Benha University President Attends the University's Scientific Excellence Day Celebration

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawi, President of Benha University, attended the university's Scientific Excellence Day celebration in its twelfth edition, held in the Grand Conference Hall. The event was attended by prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; a number of deans and vice-deans of faculties; the University Secretary-General and assistant secretaries; as well as students and top graduates.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy affirmed that Scientific Excellence Day has become a shining milestone in the university's journey. He stressed that scientific excellence does not occur by chance; rather, it is the fruit of knowledge, hard work, and perseverance, fostered by a university environment that believes every diligent effort deserves recognition and every achievement merits celebration.
The University President pointed out that honoring recipients of the university's various awards, those distinguished in international scientific publishing, top undergraduate students, and academically outstanding administrative staff reflects Benha University's conviction that the true and most sustainable investment is the investment in people—in minds capable of producing knowledge and applying it in the service of society and the advancement of development.
El-Gizawy underscored the importance of organizing such events, noting that they are not limited to recognition alone. They convey a message of motivation and encouragement to all members of the university community, and a clear affirmation that the university sees the efforts of its people, values their contributions, and opens the way for creative and distinguished individuals to continue their path of success.
He added that honoring those distinguished in international scientific publishing reaffirms the university's commitment to strengthening its position within the global research system and encouraging researchers to produce impactful scientific work that addresses societal challenges, supports a knowledge-based economy, and elevates the name of Benha University in international academic forums. Likewise, honoring top students carries an important message: the journey of excellence begins in the earliest years of university life; academic distinction is the result of diligence, perseverance, and discipline; and the university is dedicated to nurturing talent and high achievers, preparing them to become scholars, leaders, and builders of the future.
The University President extended his sincere congratulations and appreciation to all the honorees from the administrative staff, wishing them continued success and achievement. He emphasized that what they have accomplished is not the end of the road, but a new station from which they can set out toward broader horizons of contribution and excellence.
For her part, Dr. Gehan Abdel-Hady affirmed the commitment of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector at Benha University to continue supporting researchers, removing obstacles in their path, encouraging young researchers, and opening new avenues for collaboration with universities, research centers, and scientific institutions both inside and outside Egypt.
The Vice President expressed her appreciation for the researchers who succeeded in publishing their work in prestigious international journals and periodicals, thereby enriching human knowledge and raising the name of Benha University in international scientific arenas. She noted that the increase witnessed today in international publication rates and the quality of research output is the result of collective efforts involving faculty members, researchers, and students, alongside the support the university provides to the research system and the creation of an environment that fosters innovation, scientific publishing, and international cooperation.
Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to the leadership of Benha University, to all those who organized this day, and to everyone who contributed to supporting scientific research and nurturing the distinguished and creative. She called on all to continue working in a spirit of teamwork, to uphold the ethics of scientific research, to strive for valuable and impactful scientific production, and to advance toward leading positions among universities and research centers at both the regional and international levels.
It is worth noting that the celebration honored faculty members who received the State Award for Pioneers; winners of the university's Appreciation and Encouragement Awards; recipients of the university awards for Best Master's and Doctoral Theses; university scholars ranked among the world's top 2% of researchers for 2025 according to the Stanford University study; those distinguished in international scientific publishing (two or more Q1 papers); those distinguished in international scientific publishing across the university's faculties (Q1–Q2–Q3–Q4); administrative staff who obtained academic Master's and Doctoral degrees; as well as outstanding top students from the university's faculties for the 2025/2026 academic year.
