Benha University Delegation Visited Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies to Enhance Academic and Research Cooperation

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that a delegation from the university visited the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies in Jelgava. This visit is part of the "Erasmus+" program activities aimed at enhancing academic and research cooperation and exchanging expertise in agricultural and food technology fields.
Prof. El-Gizawy noted that the delegation included :
• Prof. Mahmoud Al-Zablawi, Professor of Crop Science and former Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture,
• Prof. Safaa Halawa, Professor of Pesticides,
• Prof. El-Sayed Ismail, Professor and Head of the Dairy Department.
The President of Benha University explained that the delegation began its visit with a meeting with Mrs. Linda Pride, the International Relations Officer at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, and was accompanied during the visit by:
• Prof. Kaspars Kumpans, as part of an academic delegation from several countries participating in the "Erasmus+" program, including :
- Turkey,
- Spain,
- The Czech Republic,
- France,
- Pakistan.
Prof. El-Gizawy added that the visit included a tour of several laboratories and various activities at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology in Jelgava, to learn about the educational and research capabilities and practical applications in the fields of agriculture and food technology.
The visit also included inspecting the agricultural school affiliated with the university, as well as visiting several farmers' farms to understand the production methods of various agricultural products and to observe the agricultural experiments and practices followed.
President of Benha University emphasized that such visits are part of the university's commitment to expanding its international partnerships and providing greater opportunities for the exchange of experiences and practices among faculty members and researchers, which contributes to supporting the educational and research process and enhancing collaboration with international institutions and universities.
