Banha University organized today, Monday, a medical convoy at Atef El-Gabaly School in the village of Zawyet Beltan, affiliated to Toukh Center in Qalyubia Governorate, within the framework of its societal role and its keenness to provide free healthcare services to schoolchildren.
The convoy was held under the patronage of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Banha University; Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Nermin Adly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was coordinated by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Banha University, affirmed the university's keenness to continue implementing medical and therapeutic convoys as part of its community service plan, noting that these convoys represent one of the most important aspects of the university's societal role and contribute to providing free healthcare to citizens and delivering medical services to villages and various areas.
Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that the Community Service Sector continues to implement specialized medical convoys in various villages and centers of the governorate, within the framework of the university's plan to enhance its societal role and provide distinguished free medical services, especially to schoolchildren.
The convoy witnessed medical examinations of 329 cases in a number of medical specialties, namely 119 cases in ophthalmology, 70 cases in rheumatology, 62 cases in pediatrics, and 78 cases in ear, nose and throat.
The convoy also resulted in the provision of 27 eyeglasses for cases that required them, as part of the medical services provided during the convoy's activities.
