26 Researchers from Benha University Rank Among the World's Top 2% of Scientists for 2026 According to Stanford University Study

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that Stanford University has released its list of the “World's Top 2% of Scientists,” which includes more than 236,000 scientists from 168 countries. The ranking classifies researchers across 22 scientific fields, subdivided into 174 specialties, based on امعthe Scopus database. El-Gizawy noted that the inclusion of some of the university's scientists in this international report represents a significant achievement for its researchers, reflecting the quality of their research output. The study's results are based on the Scopus database of the global publisher Elsevier and were recently published in the journal PLOS Biology.
He added that this reflects the considerable effort made by the faculty in recent times to advance scientific research and increase the number of papers published in internationally ranked journals, in addition to the support the university provides to researchers to ensure high-quality research outcomes.
Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady also pointed out that the number of researchers whose names appear on the American Stanford University list does not fully represent the number of distinguished researchers at the university who publish internationally. Therefore, all researchers should standardize the affiliation name on their Scopus profiles to “Benha University” rather than the name of the faculty or academic department.
