To Cooperate in Cross-Border Education Programs: Benha University Receives a Delegation from Canterbury Christ Church University, UK

Prof.Dr. Nasser Al-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the University has officially received a delegation from Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom. This visit falls within the university's keenness to support its internationalization efforts and enhance academic cooperation with prestigious international universities, exploring mechanisms for implementing joint academic programs under the Transnational Education (TNE) system.The British delegation included Mr. Stephen Lammiman, Director of International Cooperation and Academic Agreements; Dr. Lorna Thomas, Joint Academic Agreements Officer; and Ms. Michelle Shields, Transnational Education Programs Officer.
The University President indicated that the visit included an inspection tour of Benha University's Obour branch. The British delegation was briefed on the educational capabilities and infrastructure, including classrooms and lecture halls. They also visited the central library, the medical skills and simulation lab, and the sports complex. Meetings were held with officials of the Student Management Information System (MIS) and the Thinqi educational platform. The delegation expressed admiration for the university's infrastructure level and available technological readiness.
A series of academic and technical meetings were also held between the two sides. Discussions covered aspects related to programs and academic regulations, admission systems, teaching mechanisms, examinations and assessment, and e-learning platforms. This paves the way for activating joint academic cooperation between the two universities.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and the exchange of technical information, in preparation for taking the next executive steps. This contributes to offering joint academic programs in accordance with international standards, thereby enhancing Benha University's standing at both the regional and international levels.
On the sidelines of the visit, Mr. Stephen Lammiman participated as a keynote speaker in the events of the conference on employment and vocational training held at the university's Obour branch. He highlighted the role of Transnational Education (TNE) in enhancing graduate skills, linking academic programs with labor market needs, and increasing employment opportunities locally and internationally.
