The first nucleus of the Faculty of Agriculture at Benha University was established in 1911, with Moshtehar, one of the villages in Kalyobiya Governorate, chosen as the location for a medium agricultural school. This school was later converted in 1942 into a branch of the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University, continuing in this capacity for three years before resuming its role as a secondary agricultural school.
