Summary46Summary-This present study was conducted at Benha University Hospital in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mit Ghamr general Hospital.-In the present study serum leptin and adiponectin were measured to 45 patients with postmenopausal bleeding who were investigated by transvaginal ultrasound and D&C biopsy. According to histopathological examination three groups were studied:-1. Group I : 15 cases of atrophic endometritis as a control group.2. Group II :15 cases of endometrial hyperplasia3. Group III :15 cases of endometrial carcinoma.-In the present study, there was higher body mass index and mean arterial pressure in patients with endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma compared to patients with atrophic endometritis while there were no differences as regards age and parity .-In the present study, serum leptin and leptin adiponectin ratio were higher in patients with endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma than atrophic endometritis but serum adiponectin was lower in patients with endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma than atrophic endometritis.-In the present study, there was significant positive correlation between leptin and BMI parameter and highly significant positive correlation between leptin and MAP Summary46parameter, but there was non significant correlation between leptin and age.-In the present study, there was highly positive significant correlation between adiponectin and BMI but there was non significant correlation between adiponectin, age and MAP.-In the present study, there was highly significant positive correlation between leptin adiponectin ratio and BMI and there was significant positive correlation between leptin adiponectin ratio and MAP but there was non significant correlation between adiponectin, and age .-In the ROC curve of endometrial hyperplasia, area under the curve was (0.878), standard error was(0.066), confidence limits were (0.748-1.008), sensitivity was (80%) ,specificity was (86.7%),accuracy was (83.3%) and cut off point was (1.1).-In the ROC curve of endometrial carcinoma, Area under the curve was (0.916), standard error was(0.057), confidence limits were (0.804-1.027), sensitivity was (93.3%), specificity was (86.7%),accuracy was (90%) and cut off point was (1.1). |
