This study has a twofold purpose . The first was to assess the spoken English proficiency of student teachers of English . The second was to develop and validate a new programme of care-fully selected acquisition and communicative activities for developing the speaking skills of the prospective teacher of English , Kena faculty of Education.The sample of the study comprised all students of the fourth year English department in the faculty of Education at Kena . They were sixty in all (males and females). The present study is experimental in design . To carry out this kind of study , the one group pretest-post test design was adopted. |
