The research’s purpose is to assess the effect of adopting the total physical response technique upon enhancing listening comprehension and stock of vocabul – ary in learning English as aforeign language for first year children in the basic education stage. The sample of the study was 80 homogeneous children in sasah el din primary school which lies in hehia, one of sharkia’s cities. This sample was divided into two groups : 40 subjects as an experiment – al group and 40 subjects as acontrol one. There was also a pilot sample of 50 subjects for the sake of validity and reliability of tests. Thise pilot sample was selected from the first grade in el-nassria elementary language school situated in the centre of zagazeg, this samplr was selected from this assigned school because the materials studied in it were the same as those which were taught to the experimental group and the control group. the experiment lasted ten weeks. The units designed by the researcher were recorded on tapes by the voice of a native speaker. |
