Questioning is one of the most common techniques used by teachers in every specialization. It is also a fact that questioning is among the oldest and most commonly used teaching and learning strategies. Questions are the heart of teaching, and one might say that the teacher is aprofessional marek. At the some time we must admit that one cannot progress very far in language learning without mastering questions forms, teacher’s questions are important because they are the models on which the students build their own questions and response. Rees (1976, p. 304) good teaching involves some basic elements. ”one of the most importantelements is using questions in the teaching situation, especially the oral questions ; this means that the learning situation, whatever it is, should include some aspects of oral questioning because it is the only way for discussion and interaction between teacher and student”. Hassan (1984, p. 3). This is due to the fact that the task of secand language teacher is to develop competence in second language learning especially the communicative competence. This is consequently dependent on asking questions. Related to this, questioning is a ”vital concern because it is one aspet of verbal interaction which is the most common and, therefore, the most critical form of interaction between teacher and student”. Sheir (1984, p.170).
