This work was carried on forty patients attending Out Patient Clinic of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Department of Benha University Hospitals.They were divided into :1.Twenty Rhematoid arthritis patients fulfilling the criteria of the American college of Rheumatology (ACR) for the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis Arnett et al. (1988).2.Twenty osteoarthritis patients diagnosis according clinical and laboratory assessment of the disease Altman (1991).3.Control group include twenty healthy voluntears age and sex matched to our patients.The aim of this work is to assess the level of NO in both serum and urine samples in Rheumatoid arthritis as well as osteoarthritis patients. Also we will try to find out the relation of these levels with the disease activity.All patients will be subjected to the following :Full history taking & complete clinical examination.Locomotor system examination.Laboratory investigations analysis :- Erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) (Dacie and lewis, 1975) - Full blood picture (Sox and Jiang, 1986)- Complete urine analysis.- Rheumatoid factor (RF) using latex test(Waston, 1965)- Liver function tests : ALT,AST, total bilirubin, direct and indirect bilirubin, total proteins, albumin, globulin and alkaline |
