Aim of the study is to identify the quality of the locally made above knee prosthesis in Egyptian patients. Also to identify the relationship between the physiological cost index (PCI) and the quality of the prosthesis. To identify the quality of the prosthesis. It was examined generally during standing, during sitting and walking. And then was examined the prosthesis partially to evaluate each part of the prosthesis separately.Examination or checkout procedure of the locally made above knee prosthesis is to determines, whether accepted standards of prosthesis fabrication and fit have been met or not and if not, if possible corrective action is needed. After exhaustive research there is no study evaluating all parts of the prosthesis of trans-femoral amputees at the same time. But there are some studies that evaluate some parts of the above knee prosthesis separately. So each part of the components of the locally made above knee prosthesis will be comparedseparately with other studies. |
