The present study was conducted on 70 immaturefemale rats aging 4 - 6 week and weighing 20 -40gm.. The animals were divided into two equalgroups •, namely , an experimental group and acorresponding control one • The experimental animalsreceived daily injections with Flebocortid ( ~ydro_cortisone - Richter) in a dose of 4 mg / 100 gmbody weight / day for 14 days. !ke controlanimals receiveQ corresponding doses of normalsaline • Samples of 5 animals , in both groupswere sacrificied after different intervals duringand after stopping the inlectiOA •anaesthetized , the abdominal cavity was opened, and the mesentery was spread over clean glassslides •The smears were stained with a 1 % cresyl echtviolet solution, examined under the oil - immersionobjective , about 500 fibroblast nuclei were scoredfor eachchromatinanimal • and thepositive nucleipercentage ofwas calculated.sexThe results revealed that the percentage ofsex chromatin - positive nuclei decreased regUlarlywith extrainjection of hydrocortisone ; reachinga minimal score after the 14 th daily injection •However , a rapid recovery was recorded immediatelyafter stoppage of the injection • Morover ,higherand higher percentage were recorded on prolongingthe period of recovery to 6 and 11 days from thelast 14 th injection • The value reached to nearlythe original level - before hydrocortisone administration- 11 days after stoppage of hydrocortisoneinjectionOn the other hand • theinterestingly exhibiting aexperimental one but witha more blunted bottom •control animals werecurve analogus to thehigher estimates andSuch results might provmd~ an evidence thatthe emotional stress status accompaning injectionplays a role in the reduction of sex chromatinfrequencyincite a• Moreoverdecrease inhydrocortisone wasthe sex chromatinshown tocount •
