146This study was undertaken to describe te clinical importance of growth charts.It is very important to use the growt charts in our M.C.H. centers for early detection the mainutrition dis-eases. Its is also important to use it in studying the effect of acute infection on the infants growth.With growth carts specially weigt charts, it is very easy to identify te infant with mainutrition not only by the axillary ealt workers but also by the illiterated moter.Two groups of infants under I year erer studied :1-The diarrhoeal group which included 3I infants.2-The diarroeal group which included 29 infants.We noticed that the mean weights, heights, midarm circumferences and head circumference of chest diarrhoeal group were less than te mean of chest infection group from te 2 nd mont of infants life, but, in the 8 th month the gaps was increased due to te higher percentage of diarrhoeal around tis age, this is well illustrated in fig I, II, III and IV. And also in tables I, III,IV,V, ad VI.We we compare between the pattern of ifats feeding and teir mean weigt, midarm circumference.
