The world health organization guidelines for the management of children wit acute respiratory infections recommend that children who present with cough, difficulty in breathing, raised respiratory rate or indrawing should be trated for pneumonia with antibiotics.Respiratory rate is to some extent dependent on body temperature in children wit febrile illness suc as pneumonia and other, but this does not alone account for the raised respiratory rate seen in those with pneumonia and others. This study included 52 patients aged from 2 months-60 months, complaining of fever and tachypnea. They were classified into 2 main groups, each of them was subdivided into 2 groups according to age. Those patients were subjected to complete history and physical examination, vital signs and oxygen saturation were recorded before and after 1 hour of administration of a single dose of acetminopen. |
