In the presence of Prof.Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof.Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, participated in the celebration of the launch of the "Empowerment" initiative, implemented by the ministry in collaboration with the global "Hope Givers" campaign. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the rights and responsibilities of students with disabilities within Egyptian universities and to provide equal opportunities for them.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the results of the QS ranking for Arab universities for 2025, revealing that the university ranked 114th among Arab universities out of 246 universities across 20 Arab countries, and 17th among public, private, and national universities in Egypt, from a total of 36 universities included in the ranking.
In the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University, signed the protocol for establishing the Greater Cairo Region Universities Alliance, which includes Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Helwan University, Benha University, Al-Azhar University, and a number of private and civil universities. The President of Benha University said that the alliance aims to achieve actual integration between the elements of the higher education system and industrial institutions and to bridge the gap between academic programs and the actual needs of each region, in addition to contributing to advancing development rates in the Greater Cairo region through cooperation between the universities of the alliance and presenting creative ideas and solutions that serve the issues of national industry and allocating a number of scientific researches to support and develop industries, which achieves the optimal investment of sustainable centers in universities.

The students of the Egyptian universities, who participate in the first education forum from 22-2-2017 to 25-2-2017, recommend holding an annual education forum in Benha University to put the recommendations of the forum into practice, face the defects and the solve them. Prof.Dr. El-Sayed EL-kady, the university president asserts that Benha University approves on the students of Egyptian universities to hold an annual education forum in Benha University, but the university president will refer to the minister of higher education for approval.
Prof.Dr. Khalid Abd El-Gafer, the minister of higher education inaugurates, on Thursday at 10 a.m., the activities first forum of developing the education which is held from 22-2-2017 to 25-2-2017. This event is attended by prof.Dr. EL-Sayed El-kady, the university president, the general/ Mahmoud Ashmawy, the Qulubia governor, prof.Dr. Tarek Shawky, the minister of education, many universities' presidents and their deputies, the faculties' deans, the representatives of the parliamentary committees of the Republic presidency, the faculties' members, the researchers, the students and the civil community representatives. The minster asserts that this forum is a good occasion not only for exchanging experiences, experiments, and visions among the universities of Egypt to develop the education but also for cementing the relationships among them and getting to know the mechanisms of the thinking of the Egyptian universities affiliates.

On Sunday, the activities of the agricultural round no.39 is launched at the faculty of agriculture in Benha University under the auspices of the minister of higher education, the minister of youth and sport ,the Qalubia governor and prof.Dr. EL-Sayed El-Kady, the university president. Benha university council holds its meeting in Sharm EL-Sheikh approves on the bulletin of the faculty of education to launch six curriculums to prepare teachers of English, physics, chemistry, science and math in addition to preparing the teachers of primary education in science and math. The bylaws of these programs should be ready to be delivered to the sector committees of supreme council of the universities to be endorsed. Prof.Dr. El-Sayed El-Kady, the university president asserts that the programs of the faculty of medicine should be developed to have efficient Alumni who are capable of competing with all faculties of Medicine around the world and accepting the challenges in 2023. In this year, the certificates of the faculties of medicine which didn't develop its programs will not be accepted. This statement concurs with the university president attendance of a workshop about developing the Bachelor programs of medicine and surgery. The students of Benha University get ten medals at the competition of the Egyptian universities in Alexandria. This competition was from Monday to Thursday and it was organized by the ministry of youth and sport and there were 22 Egyptian universities who participated in this contest. Prof.Dr. Moshbeh El-kehily, the general manager of the youth care at the university said that the students get five golden medals, three bronze medals and two silver medals in the athletic games and table tennis. Prof.Dr. El-Sayed EL-Kady, the university president asserts that students should practice sport and the university totally supports the handicapped as they are role models for the students.

Two teams from Faculty of Engineering (at Shoubra) were qualified for participation in the ACM Arab Collegiate Programming Contest in Sharm-ElShiekh on Sunday, 13-11-2016. One of the two teams (out of 111 teams from different Arab universities) is qualified for participation in the 41st ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (and competing with 128 teams from top universities around the world) in May 2017 in «Rapid City», U.S.A.
The ICPC traces its roots to a competition held at Texas A&M University in 1970 hosted by the Alpha Chapter of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Computer Science Honor Society (UPE). This initial programming competition was titled First Annual Texas Collegiate Programming Championship and each University was represented by a team of up to 5 members.

Engineering Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities has approved to establish three new programs at Faculty of Engineering Shoubra where Prof. Dr. Sayed El Kady, the former dean has been succeeded to establish three new programs as following; Communication & Computers, Electrical Engineering and Control and Management of Engineering Sites. The established programs will serve the community and cope with modern technologies which serve the coming generation. He mentioned also that, these programs will serve our country in its projects which support the national income.
The British Company “Quacquarelli Symonds” (QS) has announced its ranking of 2016 on Tuesday, 14/06/2016 and even though the strong competition this year between more than 300Arab Universities (public and private), Benha University has kept its rank between top 100 of the best Arab Universities according to QS ranking for the Arab region 2016.
