Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, the university announces the organization of the "Smart Healthcare" Hackathon under the slogan “Innovating the Future of Healthcare” in February 2026, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This initiative stems from the belief in the role of higher education and scientific research in supporting digital transformation, as well as the ongoing pursuit of achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 towards a digital economy based on knowledge. It aims to encourage innovation, research, and development by empowering and motivating young programmers and idea creators to present their smart ideas and programming projects.

Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Smart Education Hackathon concluded, organized by Benha University in collaboration with the Innovators and Talents Care Fund (ISF) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI). The event was attended by Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Khaled El Derendly, President of Zagazig University, Prof. Hamdan Rabea El Metwally, President of Damietta University, Prof. Maawad El Kholy, President of New Mansoura University, and Prof. Sherif Keshk, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Smart Governance.

Under the theme "Artificial Intelligence Applications: The Future of Egypt's Digital Landscape," organized by Benha University in collaboration with the ISF and the ITI (Information Technology Institute) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology 2025.

Prof.Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University President announced names of winners' universities at Emerging Technologies Hackathon to Empower People of Determination at the closing ceremony of the Hackathon, which witnessed distributing prizes on the winning teams. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy distributed prizes on the winning teams; He was accompanied by Dr. Khaled Al-Dirandali, President of Zagazig University, Dr. Hamdi Hussein, President of Luxor University, Dr. Gamal Sosa, Acting President of Benha National University, and Dr. Tamer Samir, Vice President of Benha University for Education and Student Affairs.

The 40 student teams which represent 25 public and private universities continue their participation in activities of the "Smart Cities Hackathon", which is held at Benha University.

The Hackathon is going to be held under auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Amazon Web Services.
